Solve choppy sound with Jabra Elite Active 75t on Ubuntu
Jabra Elite Active 75t Bluetooth headphones is a brand new model, which is great for sports, but I also use it while behind my computer instead of bulky overhead headphones. Hearthrough works magically as well as ambient noise reduction is great. They stick to ears nicely and I am yet to run out of battery, although I did some 2 hours cycling rides. They are a bit on lower side for the volume, but I am not bothered.
Anyway pairing with your computer will be easy, just make sure your mobile phone Bluetooth is disabled as headphones will connect to it. Nice thing is that they can be connected to two sources once paired, although I am yet to see how the decision is taken which sound is played. After they are paired you will notice that sound is choppy and starts lagging from time to time which makes is unbearable soon. The help is simple ,you just need to add snd-hda-intel as option to your ALSA configuration
echo "options snd-hda-intel model=generic" | sudo tee -a /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf
After this your only option is to reboot your computer as ALSA is so embedded in all programs (and not a deamon) that you do really not want to figure out where all it is as each and every program needs to be restarted to use the new configuration. Once in a while we also have to reboot our Linux machines and Jabra Elite Active 75t is worthy addition to your computer :)
